LABELLEAF / PRACTICAL GUIDE

Print product labels at actual size: A4 and Letter

A label sheet can look right on a screen and still print at the wrong size. Browsers may add margins, headers or a scale adjustment. LabelLeaf uses millimeter measurements in print so the sheet has a predictable starting point.

Know the grid

All sheets use 10 mm margins and 3 mm gaps. A4 with three columns has seven rows, giving 21 labels. Letter with three columns has six rows, giving 18. A two-column layout has five rows, giving 10 labels on either paper.

A4, three columns: usable width is 210 − 20 − 6 = 184 mm. Divide by three for about 61.3 mm per label. Label height is (297 − 20 − 18) ÷ 7 = 37 mm.

Match the printer settings

  1. Choose the same paper size in the tool and printer dialog.
  2. Set scale to 100% or actual size.
  3. Disable browser headers and footers.
  4. Check that the preview shows the expected number of sheets.
  5. Print one test sheet, measure it, and inspect text before printing more.

Use plain paper

The layouts are cut sheets, not an implementation of any adhesive-label brand. Print onto suitable plain paper or card your printer supports, then trim along the borders. For pre-cut sheets, use the manufacturer’s exact template instead.

Keep the copy short

A product name, a useful detail and a maker line are usually enough for a simple decorative label. The tool limits text length to reduce overflow, but long words can still look crowded. Inspect the preview and your test print.

Understand the boundary

These labels are not a regulatory labeling system. Products such as food, cosmetics or electrical goods may need specific information. This tool does not determine those requirements, generate barcodes or validate product claims. Use it for simple descriptive labels only when that is appropriate.
